Duncan Crine
Civil and Commercial Mediator
Duncan is an accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator with a background of more than 30 years as a solicitor in London and Oxford specialising in litigation and dispute resolution, including over 20 years in partner roles primarily at large national law firms.
Duncan understands the dynamics of civil disputes and the challenges of modern litigation. He recognises the power of mediation to deliver swift, pragmatic, flexible, cost-effective and confidential solutions for seemingly intractable disputes; and he appreciates the importance for the parties of a 'safe pair of hands' to lead them through the process.
Duncan became an early adopter of mediation as a solicitor in the 1990s, and acted as 'mediation advocate' for clients (both Claimants and Defendants) in numerous disputes throughout his practice as a solicitor.
Duncan was a practising solicitor from 1991 to 2021. He became an ADR Group accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator in 2019.
